Winstar World Casino and Resort in Oklahoma.

Las Vegas is regarded as the global home of casinos, so you would expect the largest casino in America to be located in Sin City. However, you may be surprised to see how many super-sized casinos are located outside of Nevada and the bright lights of Vegas.

We have listed America’s biggest casinos according to the square footage of their gaming floors to find you the most immense casino gaming experience. There are so many sites out there with top ten lists using dubious sources, so we created our list based completely upon the information available on the casinos own sites wherever possible. Date of ConstructionApril 28, 2005 (Wynn), December 22, 2008 (Encore)

We couldn’t complete this list without mentioning the biggest casino in Las Vegas, even if it doesn’t quite make it into our top ten biggest in the country. Unsurprisingly, Nevada has the most casinos of any US state – around 345 – but none of those are big enough to break into our top ten. For anyone who’s counting, Montana ranks second with over 170 casinos, and Louisiana and Oklahoma have 136 and 109 casinos respectively. The Wynn/Encore combination isn’t too far away when it comes to size though, and together they have the largest gaming floor in Las Vegas at just short of 200,000 square feet. The Wynn/Encore beats out the MGM Grand for the honor of Vegas’ biggest casino as between the two hotels the total gaming space adds an extra 20,000 square feet to what the Grand can offer.
